Commencement of Building Extension of the Clubrooms

Earthworks are commencing Thurs Dec 16th and this will block ALL access along the west side of the building whilst earth works take place.

Front door and boat ramp access through the building remains unchanged.

However, until further notice, you will need to rock-hop down the east side if the padlock on the sliding doors is on the inside after a paddle.

New Door Code

Hello Swannies

If you are financial members but have not received an email with the new door code it is because according to the database you do not have a key.

If you do have a key please email the membership officer immediately with your key number so you can receive the new door code.

Half-day Canoe Polo training session

Due to time constraints the clinic will only be teaching the game of canoe polo (no experience necessary) and therefore is not suitable for novices without their basic flatwater strokes. Knowledge of the capsize drill, getting wet and having fun is essential while any Eskimo rolling skills are an optional bonus! Accompanying adults may also join in (numbers permitting) if they also fit the above criteria. The minimum age is 12 though exceptions may be made on an individual basis depending on their skill level (speak to me directly).

The cost for the morning is $10 (plus CWA insurance if not already covered by their clubs) which includes polo bats, helmets with face shields and all other polo equipment hire. Junior paddlers need only bring their own personal paddling attire but it’s suggested if they have their own PFDs then to bring them also as they will fit better than the adult sized ones PCPC has.

Prior registration with myself before Fri 17th December is essential as available boat numbers are limited to 21. So far 14 spaces are left (unless supplying your own gear). Any other enquiries can also be directed to me at the email below.

Winery Paddle

Winery Paddle December 12th 2010 – suitable for all.

A scenic paddle from Guilford up to Houghton’s winery, approx 6km of flat water each way. You should have completed an Intro to Kayaking Course or similar, however this is a great paddle for beginers and new members who are happy with the distance and fancy seeing the Swan River from a different viewpoint.

We’ll paddle up the river, land near the winery, walk up through the field and have a wine tasting followed by lunch ( byo food or buy a yummy platter from Houghton’s), enjoy the sun then head back down the river.

PFD and footwear a must for this trip, along with hat, sunnies and maybe a dry top for the wine tasting !

Cost $3 for the wine tasting for those who want to participate.

Contact jenniferhouston@optusnet.com.au or call me on 0403 502 584.
